A Tat, A Patch or a Tattoo, Part Two
You can, once again, click on the photo to embiggialize it, Grandad!
The other week I wrote about getting the outline of this, part two of my left arm tat. Well on Saturday I had the shading and color fill done and I can only rave about the cat who did it. His name is Eric and he works at The Illustrated Man.
This guy has got some skills!!! Ya’ want to talk about the best of the best? He is in that conversation.
Jen was right. The outline I had done the other week was a whole lot more painful than the shading and color fill. In retrospect the work I had done on Saturday only hurt a bit. Not a lot.
This coming winter I’m going to get with him again and get part three done so someday I can then move on to my other arm. Part three has yet to be determined but I already know what part four is. First off, this patch won’t go below my elbow so I can still go to work in a short sleeved shirt. Part four is going to be a bunch of small shamrocks all connected by a vine. This will be all around the existing and even extending up on to my shoulder.
You totally could have said JEN WAS RIGHT. I need that kind of back – patting.
I lurve being right.
Most excellent shade of green., btw.
My last tat was all black and grey and brown so I feel your pain.
I just kind of like it.
Heh.
Jen
JEN WAS RIGHT!!!!!
You really were. The shading and color fill wasn’t that big of a deal.
The next step is a Shamrock/knot kinda thing under the armband/knot but above the elbow. Maybe, I’m still working on that part.
After that, I was inspired by some china of my Mothers. I think it’s called Belleek. It has little shamrocks all connected by thin little vine kinda’ vines. anyways I spoke about it to the artist and both he and his wife were blown away with the idea. They both thought that that would really pull the whole thing together and make it a work of art as opposed to a bunch of tattoos on my arm. Eric even said he didn’t know where I was going with this until I mentioned the shamrocks all connected all over my upper arm and shoulder.
The other thought I had was 26 of them being green and six of them being black but Grandad would give me no end of grief about doing that. 🙂
You’re going to turn into a wall painting at the rate you’re going 🙂 Looks good – and reckon the shamrocks will fit right in.
Nice ink, dude.
Got my first at 19, second at 22… no need for a third.
Yet.
Just one question …..WHY? and don’t tell me WHY NOT?
First off, I like it.
Secondly, because I want to
Thirdly, because it looks good.
Fourthy, just because….
And by the way….When did you become a goat?
seriously the record can’t get anymore permanent
Wait ’til ya’ see it.
You’ll love it as much as I do.
🙂
and by the way……it’s as permanent as my record.
🙂
